Freshly Spring: What I Can’t Stop Thinking About

Spring is around the corner—though you wouldn’t know it looking outside—and all I can think about is the fashion flooding my feed: colour, lace, silks, raffia, feathers, fringe… gah, I want it all! There’s something about spring that always feels fleeting. By the time it’s practical to wear most of the beautiful pieces, summer is already peeking around the corner.

Because of this, I’m strategic about what I buy now versus what I might wait for, dare I say it… on sale. Unless, of course, you’re travelling soon or lucky enough to live in a warmer climate, in which case, why wait?

Spring may be brief, but there are pieces within these collections that carry you effortlessly into summer and can still be styled come fall. Think of a delicate silk skirt layered with a cozy knit, or a pastel dress paired with boots when the leaves start to turn—pieces that feel fresh, timeless and versatile, not just seasonal.

Here are the pieces I’ve been obsessing over this season:

Balloon Pants: I cannot get enough of this silhouette—I bought these ones last year and love them. Now I have had my eye on these Sea NY ones and this designer pair, along with these that I ordered, and these, playful yet sophisticated, perfect for layering or pairing with structured blazers and cropped knits.

Delicate Laces & Silks
There’s something about soft textures in spring that feels dreamy. Layer them under knits, pair with jeans, or let them shine solo as a statement piece. I have always loved lace and its still everywhere —especially layered with silky fabrics. Dôen does beautiful silks; I have these pants I have styled so many ways already, and they just launched them in more colours. For warmer days, these shorts are a great option, or even these ones under $100. I love this skirt , especially in the flamingo colour. When it comes to full lace looks, leave it to Sea NY and LSF for showstoppers like this and this along with the matching skirt.

Pops of Colour
Pastels, buttery shades, or a subtle pop of rainbow—these are the colours I’ve been craving. They make even the simplest outfit feel elevated. I have had my eyes on these sparkly pants, they are unexpected and fun. For warmer weather this striped skirt or this towel dress for pool days. I recently picked up this floral bustier and matching short set, I love the jacquard like print.

Textural Details: Raffia, Feathers, Fringe
Spring is the season to play. These details feel whimsical but still sophisticated. Perfect for adding a little “wow” factor without overdoing it. Think raffia skirts like this one and this one, a dreamy feather-top or this jacket I still have pinned, or fringed statement pieces like this fringe bikini top, this fun sarong or even this blush wrap to bring a fresh energy to classic pieces…and I can’t always help but fall for a white dress like this one.

Valentino Handbags: Little Works of Art
I can’t stop admiring Valentino’s handbags right now—they truly feel like miniature pieces of art. A few in particular have caught my eye: one with delicate embroidery and another thats more colourful and lastly, this jacquard floral print that feels like spring captured in a bag, and this beaded one These are the kinds of pieces that elevate any outfit, and even if they’re a splurge, they’re worth lingering over.

Thoughtful Investment Pieces
A few select pieces carry me season after season—indulgent but smart items I always reach for. This spring, I’m loving a classic car coat for crisp mornings, a cropped trench for structured layering, and this fringe suede jacket that has me swooning, adding texture and movement to simpler outfits.

Accessories are just as important. I’ve been loving the Strathberry Hobo, especially in caramel and natural twill — it’s a bag that feels timeless but fresh. I’m always tempted by a rattan/leather combination like this Bembien clutch for a lighter, seasonally playful option.

I’m savouring every detail, every colour, and every piece that makes me feel like the season is finally here—even if the snow hasn’t quite left the ground. Shop the full edit here.
